The last couple of months were rather exciting for the association of occupational therapist of Serbia. At the beginning of the year at the GA of our NA new executive committee have been elected. They have been elected for the period of 2018-2021.
New President of our NA is Kecman Milan, OT working at the clinic for rehabilitation in Belgrade;
Vice President Gordana Savkovic, she is also head of occupational therapy department in our school; Secretary Tanja Susic OT working in the psychiatric clinic in University hospital in Belgrade; and Treasurer Anka Mandic, pediatric OT from Clinic for rehabilitation Dr Miroslav Zotovic from Belgrade.
That is why we have changed the postal address of NA and it is now Drustvo radnih terapeuta srbije, Sokobanjska 13, 11000 Belgrade, Serbia.
We were delighted to hear the news from COTEC Executive Committee that their spring interim meeting will be held in Belgrade. The meeting was held from May 4th till May 7th. In collaboration with COTEC Executive Committee on the first day of their visit, we prepared a meeting with school representatives. Dean, professor and students had an opportunity to hear directly from the members of the Executive Committee Stephanie Saenger and Anu Söderström about COTEC work and professional development in the near future. The second day was reserved for interim meeting and a visit to the clinic for rehabilitation Dr Miroslav Zotovic, where the meeting was held. COTEC Executive Committee could see hand to hand where OT work and occupational therapy environment in oldest rehabilitation hospital in our country.
3rd day was very exciting for all of us because of the idea to have a workshop and to invite the Occupational Therapy associations of Slovenia, Croatia , Bosnia Hercegovina, Montenegro and FYR of Macedonia and to hear what is the situation of OT profession in their countries and how can our NA be more efficient.
It was the first time since the tragic period of war in our former country that we all gathered around the same table and talk about our problems and our plans and we thank COTEC for that. For the autumn we are preparing to start regular newsletters for our members.
