“Occupational Therapy writes history” – Well prepared for the future

With this headline Ergotherapie Austria celebrated its 50th anniversary through the annual symposium from March 28th – 30th at the Hilton Danube Hotel in Vienna.

The start of this weekend full of celebrating, remembering and also networking among colleagues, was the ceremonial act with official honors for members who supported the association with their commitment over the years, but also for the long-term work of our secretary.

The annual symposium was, as mentioned in the headline above, full of interesting presentations, which told different stories of our profession in different fields. We could also welcome some international speakers among them, e.g.: Frank Kronenberg and Madeleine Duncan. We were also glad to meet some representatives from our neighbouring countries Switzerland and Germany who joined our symposium to celebrate with us.

Occupational therapy students showed their creative skills with “movement breaks” between the presentations to stay focused and active through the day. Since music and dancing should never be missed on such an occasion, we invited the “Hausmusik Lebenshilfe Hartberg” which is a group of musicians with special needs.

50 years of commitment for the occupational therapy profession in Austria.

A success story which is still not ending and a strong association which is prepared for the next 50 years.
