COTEC Elections 2026 – Call for Nominations

The next COTEC General Assembly will be held in Bucharest, Romania, on Saturday the 12th of September 2026. According to the COTEC Constitution, the Executive Committee of COTEC consists of 4 positions (President, Vice-President, Vice-President Administration, Vice-President Finance) and 2 Members. 

Due to the end of the term of office and regulatory requirements, the General Assembly of COTEC will hold elections for a total of three (3) positions: 

  1. Vice-President Administration, 
  2. Vice-President Finance and 
  3. Member of  the Executive Committee of COTEC 

The term of office for all members of the Executive Committee is four (4) years with an option for a re-election term of four (4) years.

Nominations for the three vacant positions (Vice-President Administration, Vice-President Finance and Member of the COTEC Executive Committee) are now open to all Member Associations.  

  • The roles and responsibilities of the Executive Committee are determined in the                            Rules of Procedures (see attachment 1).
  • All Occupational Therapists who are members of a COTEC Member Association are electable.
  • It is recommended that the Executive Committee represents different regions within Europe. Currently countries represented in the Executive Committee are Finland, Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, and Estonia. It is also recommended that Executive Committee members reside in a country of a COTEC Member Association for the duration of their term in office.
  • COTEC Executive Committee Members must be resident in a European country for the duration of their elected term.
  • Therefore, we encourage every member country to think about suitable nominees.
  • Every National Association (or together with other associations) can support the nomination of one or more candidates. 
  • Each nomination must include the Nomination Form (see attachment 2).
  • Please note that all documents required to support the Nomination (see details in attachment 2) should be attached and sent together with it.
  • Please also note, that the nomination should be supported by persons/ organisations /groups from at least two different countries to ensure the candidate has international contacts. 
  • As the working language of COTEC is English, all documents are required in English.
