The 19th WFOT Congress took place in Bangkok, Thailand on February 9-12,2026. 

“The event brought together more than 2,300 delegates from over 100 countries, featured speakers representing more than 70 countries – and welcomed sponsors from across the globe. The Congress truly served as a worldwide gathering for the profession, showcasing extensive research and practice experiences”, writes WFOT Congress Convenor Ritchard Ledgerd in his thank you statement on the Congress website. 

COTEC, together with other WFOT Regional Members, had a stand at the exhibition. The stand created a great meeting place for European colleagues who came to greet. For delegates from other parts of the world we could share information about Occupational Therapy in Europe and introduce our 33 Member Associations and COTEC Values, Strategic Plan and Current Actions. It was also an excellent opportunity to promote the 2nd OT-Europe Congress in 2028. 

COTEC also had two presentations at the Congress. An ePoster titled Summary of the Profession: 25 Years of Mapping Occupational Therapy in Europe and a Lightning talk entitled Supporting Professional Growth: COTEC’s Role in Workforce Development and Capacity Building which was presented by COTEC President Anu Söderström.
