About the course:

The goal of the ADL-focused Occupation-based Neurobehavioral Evaluation (A-ONE): Training
course for administration and scoring is to train occupational therapists in reliable use of the
A-ONE evaluation through education on the theoretical background, clinical reasoning
involved, administration and scoring procedures of the instrument. The A-ONE, a
standardized criterion-based instrument, is used by occupational therapists to assess persons
with neurological disorders affecting activities of daily living (ADL).
The A-ONE enables occupational therapists to determine the level of assistance needed for
performing ADL and simultaneously determine the underlying reason for the lack of
independence. In particular, it aids in determining the impact of neurobehavioral
impairments on ADL task performance in natural contexts. That is, it simultaneously provides
information on the level of ADL performance (dressing, grooming/hygiene,
transfers/mobility, feeding, functional communication) and impairments (i.e. motor apraxia,
ideational apraxia, unilateral body neglect, unilateral spatial neglect) impacting the level of
independence.
