André Bürki

André has been working for and in the Swiss Association for Occupational Therapist (EVS- ASE) for 17 years. He has given us his entire wealth of experience in association processes and structures, in change processes and in personal counselling situations with a great deal of passion. He had a great gift for facing challenges with a lot of optimism, for putting his heart and soul – as non-occupational therapist – into the ideas and concerns of occupational therapy and for bringing people together. Sometimes André was also too optimistic about his time resources, which is why things sometimes didn’t get done or he sometimes missed an appointment. But it was exactly this optimism, this confidence, this always new search for solutions, that moved us all forward together and strengthened us again and again. André played the national and international network with great skill. Participation in COTEC and WFOT events and his active involvement were always very important to André. He was interested in the developments in the other COTEC Members and often offered his help to the smaller associations and new GA representatives. André offered his knowledge in non-profit management and strategic leadership on a national and international level. He fully committed himself to occupational therapy and wholeheartedly supported its core.
