News from Greece, October 2012

The Hellenic Association has issued a statement concerning the dire situation of public mental health services in Greece, supported by statements of COTEC and WFOT, addressed to the Minister of Health and Social Solidarity as well as to the Minister of Labour and Social Security. We have requested a review of extreme policies, provision of solutions for development of services and protection of human rights for all citizens.

Our annual general meeting is scheduled for the 11th of October 2012. All workgroups of the association (OT with children & adolescents, translation of OT texts, adult neurology and orthopaedics, social inclusion, political action, international relations, website support, journal group) will present their current work to the members.


News from Greece, May 2012

The Hellenic Association of Occupational Therapists has elected a new Executive Board on the 12th of February 2012.

The Executive Board has met with the Director of the National Health Services Agency (E.O.P.Y.Y.) to promote key occupational therapists’ issues, such as the cost of occupational therapy sessions in the private sector, the provision of occupational therapy services in the public sector, and the inclusion of occupational therapy in the unhealthy professions list.

Our annual general meeting is scheduled on 20th of May 2012. All workgroups of the association (OT with children & adolescents, translation of OT texts, adult neurology and orthopaedics, social inclusion, political action, international relations, website support, journal group) will present their current work to the members.
